Our group is focused on the development of high performance photonic integrated devices, especially in the field of silicon photonics, with high expertise in design, fabrication and characterization at chip level. We have a strong track-record on the development of passive and active photonic devices. One of the main areas of expertise is the development of silicon optical switches and modulators by means of innovative approaches. The integration of materials with unique optical properties into photonic devices to enhance electro-optical and all-optical functionalities is also a key research activity within our group.
